The larger pad covers the span across the lower back in a single application, which is what makes the difference between a treatment that works and one that has to be repositioned every few minutes. The pack is dual sided, giving two cold intensities from one product. The white pad side delivers a more concentrated cold contact; the other side offers a gentler option. Flipping the pad is faster and cheaper than owning two separate products, and it lets you start gentle and step up if wanted. The pad stays flexible when frozen. That matters more for the back than almost anywhere else, because the lower back is a curved surface and a rigid frozen block bridges across it rather than sitting on it. A flexible pad follows the contour and holds contact along its full length. Dual temp technology means the pad can go straight from the freezer onto the body without an intermediate sleeve or towel, so there is no waiting and nothing extra to find. The internal design keeps the gel evenly dispersed throughout the pad rather than letting it pool at one end, so the cold is spread across the whole surface instead of concentrated in a corner.
