Reef Octopus Editorial Review
The Reef Octopus Classic 150SSS Protein Skimmer has garnered a largely positive reception from aquatic hobbyists, particularly those maintaining reef tanks. Users report it performs exceptionally well across various setups, efficiently managing bio-load in tanks ranging from 55 gallons to 125 gallons. The skimmer has impressed owners with its quiet operation and effective foaming right out of the box after minimal tuning. Many customers appreciate the skimmer’s compact design, which allows for easy installation in tight sump spaces, along with the straightforward assembly process. Its performance in removing waste, even in emergency situations like a spillage of non-biodegradable materials, further enhances its reputation. Users have noted that the skimmer does not tend to overflow, an issue some had encountered with previous models. A common tip among users is to ensure the intake isn’t obstructed and to regularly clean the collection cup to maintain optimal performance. Overall, the skimmer is praised for its solid build quality, effective waste removal, and user-friendly features, making it a favorable choice for both beginners and seasoned aquarists. **
